October 2008
It is with great sadness that we
announce the death of Pat Dempsey jr. Sensei Pat was one of the founding
instructors of the KUSN, teaching and competing from the earliest days of karate
in Scotland. He was a figure who did much to shape the spirit of, and set
the standard for, our association. He will be greatly missed.

March
2003
The death of Mr Enoeda on
29th March has shocked and saddened his countless students all over the
world. His influence on karate in this country through his hard work,
hard lessons and his uncompromising standards cannot be overstated.
The photographs shown on
these pages remind us that Mr Enoeda has been for three decades visiting
the KUSN to teach, test and to inspire by his personal example. To have
attended a single one of his courses leaves a strong impression, one
which becomes indelible when one has lined up in front of him to grade.
Each and every member of our association participates in the profound
sense of loss which accompanied this sad news. We also cannot but
reflect on our debt to him as a founding figure of Shotokan in the UK,
and as the teacher of those who in turn train us.
